In April of 2017, I wrote this article on Medium. Substack user @Monsieur de Combourg recently recommended that I copy it here to my substack account. I like that idea and so, here it is - unmodified from its original 2017 form except for a tiny little 2020 update that is fun.
Love this. Notice the feeling of a kind of relief or lightening of the load, in inhabiting this perspective. The sense in my body of getting to the business at hand. Global unraveling is already here. Some parts of my inner community have been pretending it is not. The signals of alarm in my body make more sense. A noticing that unless I prepare deeply I may miss so much of what is actually happening that it is effectively invisible, despite impacting me and everyone I love as profoundly as nuclear war.
Feeling curious about where the friendly spaces are for inquiry into emerging contributions to our collective sensemaking.
Thanks; this is really an excellent and important article. It matches a few things from Caitlin Johnstone, Niccolo Soldo and a few others who, I think, are arriving independently at similar conclusions.

Has the depth of rock bottom changed from 2017 to now?
