Google isn't falling behind on AI. It's currently in the lead. OpenAI seems to lose the plot lately with their pricing. Probably they are trying to control demand in this way, rather this reflects their inference cost because they are GPU poor at the moment and are burdened by a huge free usage at ChatGPT.com. Still, Gemini 2.5 showed that Google knows everything to make SoTA models and it's hard to see why they will slide back from now on, after they have made such a comeback.
Excellent insight many significant domains, my personal favorite being the overall tone and gesture toward a meta move of humility is the thrumming tone throughout.
This didn't explain all that much. How about these two frames:
1) Trump can unilaterally and immediately impose and lift tariffs of anyone (country, sector, company), without requiring approval from congress or anyone. He said he decides based on his "instinct".
2) Trump has a meme coin which anybody in the wolds can buy (country, company, individual). Plus of course lots of other ways to collect favors and bribes.
Connect these two frames to the one you mentioned about certain elites trying to extract as much value for themselves out of late stage liberalism/capitalism.
Nobody wants these tariffs. People and companies who might benefit from import taxes, i.e. those participating in domestic industry, DON'T EXIST, because the US for the most part no longer has a domestic industry. Ergo, the only purpose of these tariffs are to enable Trump to act as the ultimate bridge troll.
Jumping jack - you are much closer than Jordan I think. The tariffs are quite easy to understand in fact: Trump is working under orders to collapse the U.S. economy, ruin the middle class and default on the debt so that the assets of the U.S. can be privatized and sold off to the highest bidder. The decision has been made that the U.S. is going to be demoted to the lower status of a developing world country for the benefit of a transnational oligarchy elite. I am surprised that isn’t obvious to Jordan.
You should transplant some 'torreya taxifolia' from Florida to North Carolina. I read somewhere, (I think it was towards the beginning of a book I have am reading), that these trees are the only wood capable of building the meta-frame we'll need.
Where do you see the Church fitting in on this game board (if it does at all)? I wouldn't be surprised if it's split across sides with the Mainline church fitting in with the legacy institutions (at least for now) and evangelical churches fitting in with the MAGA crowd. I don't know where the Catholic and Orthodox churches fit in and I definitely don't know where "metagelicals"/mere Christians fit in, although it feels like they incidentally align more with the non-legacy side through some shared ends, albeit by very different means.
Thankyou from the other side of the world (AU) for this writeup :) I dug out the 2017 version in Feb, and a lot of the possible manoeuvres and capabilities within the red insurgency, seemed to be much more accurate when seen from the place on the timeline of 1 month into v2.0 of the Trump admin. It required a bit of patience, but aged well!
Thank you Jordan! This helps explain my instinct my to go all in on my faith during covid and recently taking the DOGE buyout. Former scientist, new creation. 🙏🏽
Thanks for this post…that said, it required decoding. You write in a circuitous way. Here’s my interpretation of your intent: The old order of Pax Americana is collapsing. A new order is emerging. Who will rule it? Will the liberal elites manage to shift gears enough to continue their control of the levers of power, or will the New Right manage to wrest control of the bureaucracies, the media, and the academy from them? (Probably not.) Or will the rise of China as the military equal of the United States change the playing field altogether? And then there’s AI…does the Chinese autocracy have the advantage over the rough and tumble and politically divisive West. So, did I get it right?
Re: your first frame, do you see Neoliberalism entwined with capitalism/embedded growth obligation for economies? Is there liberalism without capitalism? I don't know.
Excellent, of course. Glad you’re making use of a longer form. I’m gonna start bothering you for a quarterly sensemaking updates!

This is all a map of 'Game A', no? Useful to understand, but only partially relevant in deciding what best we ought to do (e.g., following meaning)
Yes

Hardwoods for hard times!

What do you mean by “True Wealth” and what about neoliberalism keeps people from attaining it?
Re: your first frame, do you see Neoliberalism entwined with capitalism/embedded growth obligation for economies? Is there liberalism without capitalism? I don't know.
Excellent analysis. I have come to similar conclusions.
Gracias jefecito. Espero que todo esté bien con ustedes.
Fair enough. I won’t argue. In my case, poorly worded here.
