Short response: you are correct. Many of your specific challenges either require specific design considerations; or require some variation of a bill of rights hardwired into the architecture itself. And, in particular, deep thinking about the notion of “majority voting” and how we might more elegantly implement collaborative decision making.
Which points to the crux (I know you understand this, of course): if we can move the conversation from the existing political apparatus to some new platform (of our own design) we can experiment and modify with some response to reality and good faith intent to build something in accord with the common wealth. On the existing apparatus, we have no such opportunity.
It would be quite interesting if something like this went viral enough for us to actually give it a shot.
